Exhibit Opening: FLICKS Film & TV Festival
For the Auckland Pride Festival 2024 we have created an exhibit about lesbian sapphic film and TV from our collections. We look forward to hosting you at the exhibit opening!

Join us as we celebrate the opening of our latest exhibition with Pride 2024.
Drawing on our collection of film and related ephemera, this exhibition takes a look at the history and future of lesbian sapphic cinema. Seeing ourselves on the big screen is a powerful and identity-affirming experience and a lifeline to many. Let's celebrate our stories together this month!
For the month of February we will have a large screen for viewing in the main gallery space, a TV screening a selection of content in the exhibition room and in the library a TV available for your own choose! You can select a film or TV show from our collections of VHS tapes and DVDs to watch.
There will be a full schedule available on our website, via email and in the event listings from Saturday 26 January showing what's on at what time.
Cost: Free
What: come and check out our latest exhibition. There will be comfortable chairs and video playing, a few short speeches with an overall casual vibe.
The museum is safe inclusive space for Rainbow+ Communities and all are welcome to attend.
Access: Please be aware that the museum is located on a steep street with very little immediate parking. There is also construction happening next door so please take care. The venue is accessed by two steps and there are smalls steps inside the building also to access the gallery. A portable wheelchair ramp is available. Please contact us for further access information.
** Hire our space - if you and a group of friends are looking for a fun night out over Pride then hire us for a private screening - choose a night and your favourite movie and we'll host you! (min 20 people, tickets $25pp, we'll do nibbles and you can buy drinks from our small cash bar)
