Join T Peters – photographer, queer activist, wanderlust documentarian and natural raconteur – for a one‑night-only Retro Slide Show.
A journey through the 80s and 90s queer experience in the US, captured through original slides taken before selfies, smartphones, and instant playback.
Through the lens of a young queer activist during the AIDS epidemic, these raw and vibrant images bring to life a time of protest, connection, love, and political awakening — from San Francisco to Washington D.C., and far beyond.
Expect big hair, bold fashion, global adventures, and deeply personal stories of being out in a world that wasn’t always safe.
While the slides are largely US-based, this event proudly aligns with the 40th anniversary of Homosexual Law Reform in Aotearoa, connecting global queer histories with our own journey of progress and pride.
